NetLocalGroupGetInfo info  Overview  Group


The NetLocalGroupGetInfo function retrieves information about a particular local group account on a server.

Security Requirements

Only members of the Administrators or Account Operators local group can successfully execute NetLocalGroupGetInfo.

NET_API_STATUS NetLocalGroupGetInfo(

    LPWSTR servername,

    LPWSTR LocalGroupName,

    DWORD level,

    LPBYTE *bufptr

   );

Parameters

servername
Pointer to a Unicode string containing the name of the remote server on which the function is to execute. A NULL pointer or string specifies the local computer.
LocalGroupName
Pointer to a Unicode string containing the name of the local group account on which to return information.
level
Specifies one of the following values to return the level of information pointed to in the bufptr parameter.

Value

Meaning

0

Return the local group name of the user. The returned buffer points to an array of LOCALGROUP_INFO_0 structures.

1

Return local group attributes of the user. The returned buffer points to an array of LOCALGROUP_INFO_1 structures.

bufptr
Pointer to the return information structure is returned in the address pointed to by bufptr. The returned buffer should be deallocated using the NetApiBufferFree function.

Return Values

If the function succeeds, the return value is NERR_Success.

If the function fails, the return value is one of the following error codes.

Value

Meaning

ERROR_ACCESS_DENIED

The user does not have access to the requested information.

NERR_InvalidComputer

The computer name is invalid.

ERROR_NO_SUCH_ALIAS

The alias group does not exist.

Robotics nuts!

Check out http://users.frii.com/dlc/robotics/projects/botproj.htm from Dennis Clark. This guy ROCKS! He has made (and sells but also releases code, docs, etc...) for a number of cool little robotic modules including whiskers, IR proximity detect and remote control, Sonar proximity detect, PWM, Servo, compass. Most of these use the little PIC 12C508 controller which costs basically nothing and is soooo tiny.
