GPF: SCANDSKW caused a general protection fault in module DSKMAINT.DLL at 0004:00008b3b.
I have this error on one workstation only on the D drive (C is fine) and no matter if in safe mode or not. DOS scandisk does NOT report any errror.
This also prevented running defrag since it would first check the disk for errors using scandisk. I found that there is a registry setting at [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Applets\Defrag\Settings\scandisk] that can be set to FALSE and it will just go ahead and do the defrag. See: http://www.winguides.com/registry/display.php/1120/
