Have a look at XXCOPY.
You'll never go back ! :-)
Freeware and for $ versions.
I found that the latter versions were less friendly across a
network (can't recall what the issue was) and long ago I
reverted to an older version.
Far far more capable than XCOPY.

Version I use at
I use xcopy (on windows machine):
xcopy "C:\start_directory\*.*" "N:\destination_dir" /E /I /Y
/E - copy of dir and sub-dir
/I - create new dir if need
/Y - yes to replacements of existing files
/D - copy only modified files
