You and Tim are missing the point. If the PIClist content was moderated,
then there would be no need to introduce the superfluous tags. I think the
evidence is quite clear that the tags do not inhibit or control the
information content. In fact, quite the opposite is true. The tags
accommodate any kind of post. Furthermore, they lower the tolerance of the
subscribers. In the end, the PIClist will degenerate into a newsgroup.
People will stay subscribed because that really good 1 in a 100 post is
too valuable to miss.
