PCF8583 going crazy?
Mircea Chiriciuc email (remove spam text)
I am working on a access control network for a client and I used the
PCF8583 for clock IC on each partition so each partition will be an
completely PC independent automation. After two month with no problem at all
one day the clock jumped to a random time and date. Anyone any ideas how
this is possible and why? Any solutions?
Philips says that the Ic is not for Life support allpications (but says that
after the mechanical data in the datasheet, part which I normally ignore -
my mistake :-( ) in other words: We know we are producing and selling a shit
of a product, but we don't care. Any suggestions in using another clock CI
but no more expensive as 5$?
