The same thing happened to me with port RC2. But it was the 16C77-ME that
was damaged. I traced the output pin back through daughterboard to figure
out which chip was faulty. Apparently the 16C01-ME is the more commonly
Avnet (locally) managed to get a replacement out of their Singapore office
but it took about 3 weeks.
They were generous enough to make it no charge but then we do spend a lot of
money with them!
Replacing the part is a piece of cake - just take the normal static
