       Years ago I made a product that had multiplexed BCD arriving at a
display board on one connector and power arriving on another connector.
The board then had CD4511's driving LED displays.  I had a customer
complain that the LEDs were pretty dim.  They had not connected the power
connector to the display board.  3.5 digits of 7 segment LEDs were being
driven by the TTL BCD data.
