Tony:
There are a number of options, including:
1. Use MPLAB, Microchip's no-charge integrated development
environment; it includes an editor based on PFE.
2. Download WinEdit... It's a shareware text editor that's MUCH
better than the one in MPLAB.
3. Buy CodeWright, my favorite Windows text-editor, from Premia
Corp. (800 547-9902).

I use an excellent text editor for Windoze - PFE (Programmer's File
Editor). It's free, but unfortunately I can't remember where I
downloaded it from. It was written by Alan Phillips, at Lancaster
University. You can launch DOS and Windoze applications from within the
editor, and it has lots of other features. Try Archie or a Web search.

Try WinEdit from Wilson WindowWare (shareware, can be downloaded from
shareware.com). It allows you to integrate your pic tools into the edit
environment so that you can compil, assemble or debug just by pokin'
some buttons..

Hi,
I wrote last week a text editor adapted to MPASM, called PicEdit. It is
my first work related to PICs. I added a help file giving assembly
directives
of MPASM and the instruction set of 16Cxx family. Maybe it is not
the best solution. This morning, I started a web server to get it
avaible. Just check http://chablis.polytechnique.fr
There is an English version and a French one.
Source in TP 7.0 on request.
Regards.

Try PFE - it's the Core of the MP-LAB Editor.... and is more complete.
