hi,
by chance has anybody in their travels
done/seen a project or  some code written for a pic. to mimic a
switchmode ic.
i want to use a 12c508 to replace a lm3524 / tl494 ic for my project !.
project/code for any type of pic used in this area would be of
assistance ,& give me something to work from
thanks for your help & time

i think so, too.

hmm... even the "analog" controller has a granularity of the pwm frequency.
if you can get as fast as your pwm cycle, you probably wouldn't have more
problems with stability, would you?

thanks for your input mike,
even though prices ( in Australian $$ ) for the ic is more expensive
3524's in qty @ $1.25     --------        12c508 @ $1.76

i didn't mention that i also want to replace a battery charger ic.
i want  to cut down on the total component count , hence the pic.

the inverter (pushpull) is to run from different interchangeable dc levels ,
12v , 6v , 4.5v ( primary centre tap)
the same inverter tx is used ---- load & o/p voltages are different

i want to monitor the current pulses when the different batteries are used (
up to 2A max. ).

i want to control the current (different for each load), so that the
inverter will work for a set period of time with a constant output for each
of the loads. ( i don't need to monitor the secondary o/p)

additionally i would like to monitor the battery charging as well

btw f84 @$10.00+ here. too expensive !
the freq of operation is  35 - 45khz.

thanks ,
glen

 thanks for your input Gerhard
the frequencies are set to between approx 35 - 45khz.
the sampling rate for the current pulses does not need to be excessive.
stability should be ok.
