Hi,

Does anyone know where to buy surface mounted parts (RLC's) in quantities
less than a thousand, in the Toronto, Ontario area?  I've been looking at
the Electrosonic and Newark catelogs, but they want me to buy in the
thousands.

Thanks,
Juimiin

I use Mouser Electronics for all surface mount parts when prototyping.

Example:  100pcs 0805 carbon resister any value  $1.90 (or .019 ea.)
                 100pcs 0805 ceramic capacitor. X7R .1uf $11.00 (or .11
ea.)

Also Jameco has a 0.1uF X7R (0805) pack of
100 for $12.00,
500 for $35.00,
1000 for $50.00,
3000 for $105.00,
5000 for $150.00.
Isn't funny to think that you get 3 times more by doubling the price?

Local suppliers usually don't stock SMT.  Try the national suppliers -
Mouser, Digi-key, Allied, etc.

If you're desperate (and rich ;-) ), you can try Active Electronics in
North York or Mississauga - they have a tiny selection of SMT devices.

Hi Jyimiin,
Try Farnell components. http://www.farnell.com
or RS (I don't remember their web address)
