Hi all. Really great.
1)Would help all at Piclist if you could have added the url for Protel
or similar if you find something interesting rather than all enthusiasts
getting on the web searches. Would help all to save time.
2)It is great to have references like the one on top here to understand
the context. Would not it be great if it could be edited a little to
keep it short n sweet? in my statistics of recent past i am wasting
almost 30-35% of my download time and mail reading time on the
references. i am sure it must be a repeat for all piclisters.

carry on pic'rs

EasyTrax?  Its dos-based, and free, being a cut-down version of AutoTrax.
No autorouting, rules/netlist checking.
Check out <http://www.protel.com>
Next up I'd suggest TraxMaker, by MicroCode, Windows32 based, about $500.
Autoroutes, does DRC.  Reads Protel files.
Check <http://www.microcode.com>

Just to make it easier, here is the *exact* url for the d/l - not just the
Protel home page.
<www.protel.com/download/dos/easytrax.zip>
And the TraxMaker url
<http://www.microcode.com/TMDEMO.ZIP> 3.48M
And, if you want it, the CircuitMaker (Schematic design)
<http://www.microcode.com/CMDEMO.ZIP> 2.68M

Finally, give this site a try when you can't find things.

<http://www.metacrawler.com>  - Its a search engine.  I'm not being
sarcastic or anything here BTW, this engine seems to include most of the
others, and doesn't come up with the famous '20 records of 200000 that met
your search' - crap that some do, or have a lot of dupes in it.
