I'm looking for some full bridge motor drives that can handle at least 6
amps (6-12 volts).  Any suggested part numbers or manufacturers?

At what current level does it become cheaper to use a high-side driver and
discrete devices?

thanks,
newell

Pretty much any level - Mosfets are cheap! You can usually do
high-side drive cheaper with a few discretes unless you're switching
at high frequency, where things get interesting.
