'list problems (again!)'

Well, it appears the list went down again shortly after it had started
working after the last little "incident."
The last message that came through was on Thursday. Perhaps the listserv
software was concerned that our signal to noise ratio was falling in the
"who are you" thread ;)
Actually, apparently the listserv was set to stop distribution (of any
list) if it received more than 50 messages in a day. Ironically, it was our
post-list-silence verbosity that did us in.
If things don't settle down soon, I will consider moving the list to my new
net site (org.org) so I can have more complete control over list
maintainance and hopefully avoid these problems (you's think you could
depend on MIT information systems, sheesh...)
To be fair, MIT is providing the list distribution service for free, so I
guess you get what you pay for.
