Hi,
I have one LCD. But I do not know how to program it. Because I have no
data sheet.  Trying to search in internet, but still get no result. Does
anyone know about this ?

Type : PCIM 201 2x16 Dot Matrix
from  Printed Circuits International, Inc.
13 pins only

Is the 'protocol' same as Hitachi LCD controller (HD44780) "protocol"?

Thanks a lot.

Regards,
Harry

The problem is that the pin is not same as Hitachi's. They are VDD, GND, CS,
MRD, MWR and 8 bit data. I don't know how to use data or instruction format.

Harry

Is that all the data you have on it and from where did you get that?

OK, hook it up to a printer port, including the Strobe line to MRD,
"fire it up" and send it ASCII characters one at a time, holding MWR low
(unless what specs you have indicate it to be active low) and CS high.

Having just acquired a NEC VFD display which understands ASCII (and I
mean that, including control characters), I should not be surprised if
that display did also.

Hi,

In Hitachi, to write/read LCD, we just make RW pin to be low or high (just
this pin only). In PCIM I have mentioned, there are 2 pins (I assume that :
MWR and MRD)
. It is not common.

Any way, I want to test it. Thank you for your advise.

Regards,
Harry
