Hello all! I'm not only new to this list, I'm new to pics all together! I have used a basic stamp with great ease, and own both a bs1 and a picstart 16c64. Since I am very familiar with basic, and know virtually nothing about the pic yet I was wondering if anyone has one of those basic complier programs where you program your pic in basic like the basic stamp. ( a program which converts basic into object code) I found a picbasic program on the net but it looks for a "module" one of course which I don't possess, therefore it is useless to me! BTW, Tony, I really AM curious, are you in the ENGineering department of Monash Uni, or the ENGlish department? Not bad considering it's still only on that roll of paper in my head - which is throbbing like a beaut at the moment. I decided to use 2 12C671's to control the steering and throttle mechanisms via 1 low power and 1 high power H Bridge IC from NS. The (power) steering needs to react quite quickly, but I figure 60 RPM max at the actual wheel, and about 180 degrees of rotational movement should be all that is needed. I was thinking a 12V starter motor from a small stationary engine with suitable gearing should be powerful enough. I've figured out the mechanism so it's just a matter of putting it all together.
