I bought mine from a specialty book store for computer users.
Was about $5.00
Was worth it since didn't have a hi-speed internet connection at the time.

try the larger bookshops or the one's that cater to computer users ans
specialists.... perhaps electronic shops may have it.

By the way: ther also exist other variants of Linux bootable CD:s
I have seen Suse, Lindows, Mandrake, and... some more i forgot.
They are usualy called "[insert brandname here]-live"
Some are gratis to download, some are not.
Some schools and organisation have made own.
Dappix is a knoppix modified for danish schools.

http://www.gentoo.org/ is also in the game of making free Live CDs. You
can download your own or buy them pre-made.

Although I'm using a Gentoo box over here ( and love it ;-) ) , I
wouldn't recommend it's Live CD because it is inteded for
instalation/rescue purposes.

BTW there's a brazillian Live-MiniCD based on Knoppix that has an
improved hardware detection (for on-board modems, for example), it's
called Kurumin, but as Knoppix is based on Debian, so does Kurumin

http://www.guiadohardware.info/kurumin/ - there's a bunch of screenshots
over there.

Did you know you can also get Gnoppix.

Knoppix is based on the KDE desktop, and Gnoppix is based on the Gnome
desktop.

Yes I know Knoppix, Gnoppix and a few others,
but what I really meant is some complete engineering distribution,
like FreeDuc is for educational purposes,
so a distribution with all kind of PIC tools, CAD, compilers,
simulators, etc  ;-)

I'm interested, if it contains all the good PIC-tools, like JAL, ...  ;-)

No PIC stuff, this copy was created by a collegue for teaching C to
freshman programmers. For the PIC class next season we will use
Windoze/MPLAB on PCs that can be re-installed with a prepared image.
Which will probably need to be done each night.
