<SNIPPED THE LIES>
Please check websites like http://urbanlegends.about.com/cs/virushoaxes1/
For alerts on hoaxes.
This is an age old hoax.
Deleting this file will not hurt unless you debug java, if you do then
deleting the JDBMGR.xex file will stop you from debugging java.
Regards,
Kat.

Please people, do some research first... 5 seconds of googling found this:
www.symantec.com/avcenter/venc/data/jdbgmgr.exe.file.hoax.html
http://www.f-secure.com/hoaxes/jdbgmgr.shtml
http://www.secuser.com/hoax/2002/jdbgmgrexe.htm
You don't even have to open them to know what it says...

-----Oorspronkelijk bericht-----
Important:
I was just informed that someone accidentally passed a virus on to me. My
address book has, in turn, possibly been infected. Since you are in my
address book, there is a chance that you will find the virus in your
computer, too. The virus called jdbgmgr.exe) is not
detected by Norton or McAfee anti-virus systems. I have been told that this
virus sits quietly
for 14 days before damaging the system. It is sent automatically by
messenger and by the address book whether or not you send e-mail to your
contacts.

Hmm, this hoax has at least 5 people on the PIClist searching for
information for at least one minute, writing a reply which takes
up time and bandwidth... And the piclist is only one address on
the book of the original sender. Do the math and remember how
much time and money you've wasted by not checking for
yourself in the first place...

Please don't...I said something like that in a chat session after someone
had been sounding off about jdbgmgr and they all believed me implicitly, I
had to spend the next ten minutes explaining.

Since they could receive the explanations they did not believe you so
blindly imho.

Today I scanned my PC with online virus checker
http://www.trendmicro.com and choose free online
Checking. After it scanned my hard drive it found
14 infected files that were able to repair them. I have NAV
Installed and definitions are up to date it didn't see it.
I do not think NAV is the best virus checker. I think the best virus
Cleaner is to format your hard drive every year or so and
Backup on CDR very often.

After 12 years dealing with all kinds of viruses I can tell you that some
anti-virus software sometime "find" viruses even it's not a real virus, the
reason is the old method called "virus signature"
so don't be so sure it's a REAL virus, it could be some innocent file that
have a string that look-a-like a virus.
NAV have a huge research center and as far a I know they are most
up-to-date. even so, most stealth viruses cannot be detected but only in
safe-mode, when the virus is not active, there is some exceptions...

Yes, a free virus checker "found" some virii on my machine that turned
out to be nothing more than multiple copies of "readme.com", which was
once included with many Borland products.
