Hi! I just come back from the USA (west) and enjoyed your country. BUT I searched form electronic stuff and didn't found more than 2!! And they didn't know PICs! It's a shame.... What about Radio Shack... where ther is no good stuff. i plan to return to the USA in october, but on the other coast. Is there anybody that lives there and can help me by telling places where I can found a lot of things (also surplus stores)? Is there anybody that live in California, Utha, Nevada or Arizona and that is reading this mail? Thanks for any answer, I had like some information. Thanks a lot. David

I live in New Jersey, about 2 hours due west of New York City. Contact private for more. What brings you here in October. Radio Shack is a waste of time. I get proto stuff there and that's it. 15-20 years ago RS had lots of stuff, and they seem to be getting more ICs back, but mostly they are a consumer-oriented store, not a hobbyist place. Too bad they bought up Lafayette. I'm in Utah....Bell Industries carries PIC. In California, Mouser now carries PIC as well. The Microchip HQ is in Chandler Arizona...just outside Mesa. The parts section, which used to be just the back corner of one of the 2 local stores, has been expaned to close to 1/3 the footage of the store - about 3 times its previous size. The manager said that this is intended to be a 'permanment' change. They still aren't a Digi-Key, though.
