Hi...

I'm trying to build David Taits Pric Programmer 16C5XX programmer and I'm
confused about one part.
Does anyone know what the part BAR28 is? I know its a diode, but is there
an industrial part name for this?
I would really appreciate the help...

Thanks

Vu,
I think this part is exotic, David Tait insists it isn't because Maplins
high street shops sell them:)
But he does say "Virtually any schottky diode will do (even a 1N4148 will do
in practice)"
So recommend you use any low cost schottky diode you can find e.g IN5817
etc.

It's a Schottky diode, available from Maplin. Try a 1N6263 (nice and
cheap) or any Schottky signal diode.

Probably a 1n4004 would do.

The one diode in the programmer is a zener 12V/400mW

Hi,
I guess it can be a Schottky diode. They have an extremely low opening
voltage (0.2-0.3 V instead of about 0.7V). If you can not get it, try a
Germanium one (AA ...)
