I have thus far only used the Parallax assembler for a 16C57. I am
surprised to see this reference to a fractional number...(0.5 I assume).
Does this really refer to the value of 0.5? How is this stored in
the w register???

It represent decimals 5, not a half. Just a method of distinguishing
between hex, octal and decimal.
