I am currently using pic 16C84-04 but find this part is now only supplied
as a FLASH ROM device (pic 16F84-04) instead of EEprom.

Do you know if modifications are required to the parallel port programmer
as per Tait,  Manning (NZ) etc to us ehte FLASH pic 84?

Many thanks
Andrew

There has been no change to the memory cell architecture,
only a change to the name.

A NEW rose is better than a CLASSIC rose, what?

Andrew:

The "Flash ROM" change is ONLY a name change; there is NO
memory-architecture difference between what used to be called the
EEPROM 16C84A and what is now called the Flash 16F84.

Microchip is under the (mistaken, I think) impression that "Flash" is
a generic term for "electrically-erasable".
