Does anyone have a library of PIC parts for the Protel Advanced =
Schematic program?  I have started to enter the parts in the Parts =
Editor but it would sure be nice if someone already has a library they =
would share.

Thanks,
Ed.

I've made a few parts of my own, but it's just for schematic purposes,
so there's no guarantee that I've followed all the rules.  I'm just looking
for pretty pictures, not for correctness as far as size, IEEE standards,
etc.  I have a PIC16C73 and a PIC16C61 drawn up that I will send you
(somehow) if you're interested.  I am also interested in seeing how
anybody else has drawn these up if there are others reading this.

 Thanks,

I'd like one too!  Is there a standard PIC archive site that PIC schematics,
libraries, and other stuff can be uploaded to?

I've got two or three different 18-pin PIC parts in my library.  Maybe I'm
too picky about how I draw my schematics, but I don't find standard library
parts for devices with more than three leads to be very useful.  Invariably I
want the pins in a different order or on a different side of the symbol
to make the schematic simpler.  I've always wanted a schematic capture package
that would let you drag the pins of a symbol around directly, rather than
requiring you to run a library editor and create a new symbol.

Cheers,
Eric

Thanks,  I also got a reply from Antonio Benci in Australia who has an =
Orcad library of PIC parts that he will send me.  Should be able to =
import it into Protel.  If that doesn't work out I may as you for yours! =

I haven't been able to find any PIC parts on the net but found a place with
other parts.  The site is:
http://leonardo.caltech.edu/protel/protel.html

You can search for a part and if found and you want it, it will send it to you.

Picky, picky!  Yes, I know exactly how you feel.  I'm the same way.  But =
it is nice to have something to startout with that is close to what you =
want.  Then use the part editor and move a few things around and you =
have your part.  It would be nice to have a schematic capture program =
that would allow that directly like you say.

 Ed,

You're absolutely correct.  I tried the exact same address again and it
worked fine.  I pulled in a part just to test it and it all worked as
advertised.  Must have been a Monday morning startup glitch on my end.
