Damned right! I've been putting up with this for 16 years, and it stinks!
Seems like every time I get a rep or distrib. sales guy to understand the
situation, he gets promoted, and I have to break in a new guy.

In some cases, I have my customers procure the parts for R&D, at other times,
well, there's DigiKey and friends.

..or they move to another company, or the disti loses the
fanchise.....

I find this is usually the easiest way - they're the ones who will be
buying for production & can give answers to silly questions like 'how
many zillion of these will you be buying'. I also don't get the hassle
when the customer decides to go to a different disti!
