Poptronics is no more. The failure of many/most people over 30/40/50 (pick
a number) to move with the times and to want to 'Stop the World I want to
get Off'.

Poptronics and Electronics Australia failed because their Editors refused
to move with the times and with their readers interests - specifically
microcontrollers and the Internet. It is that simple. The Editors (both
over 60 years old) did not understand these new fangled things and hoped
they would go away. Well they were swept away instead."

I say:
Most of us over 60 Tekkies thought we were the only ones left with soldering
irons and the ability to read a schematic and build anything.

The publishing business requires a crystal ball that is accurate. The
internet drains a lot because there is so much access to current and
relitively free information. I used to read Readers Digest cover to cover. I
am letting that subscription go, I don't have time for it. I will spend more
time with technical subjects.

If you look around the 'net you will find that there are very few folks
around that actively build electronics "stuff".
The folks here are "different". That is also why I am here!
