My Picstart+ switch mode PSU wouldn't work properly (high current flow
to pc through 0 volt line) until I swapped phase and nutral of the PSU
AC volts input socket !
This tells me that the PSU is not properly isolated. My PSU has been
going strong since the swap for around 2 years now, 24 hours a day, 7
days a week. Checking it now I reckon it should run cooler, but it's
always been that way.
If you have to do my mod, then get a meter and check potential between
the
PICSTART+ RS232 ground and that of your PC.
regards,
Graham Daniel.
