Where can I get upgrade firmware for my picstart? (UK preferably)

I need version 01.99.00 or later.

www.microchip.com/10/Tools/picmicro/program/picstart/index.htm

It's at the bottom of the page, the hex file and instructions are
included in the zip.

At 08:50 AM 1/17/00 EST, you wrote:

The HEX file for version 2.1 is included with MPLAB but there does not
appear to be a seperate download option for just the HEX file. If you
don't want to download all of MPLAB I can email you the HEX file.

Let me know if you are interested.

Having just been through the same excercise I have the following
comments:

I found a download for the hex file (in PSFW201.ZIP), but my version of
MPLAB was pre-2.xx and would NOT communicate to the picstart + (in
16F874 configuration) after the changes.

After loading the second to latest MPLAB 4.12.00 (8Mbytes +) I was able
to use the PS+ with it's updated firmware.

Be sure to save your original version of PIC17C44 that came in the PS+,
you need it each time you burn a new software into a blank 17C44 chip,
unless you have two programmers !

regards,
Graham Daniel

P.S.-   (>:) Looking at the PDFs, I expected a 16F874 to be run 16C74A
code with no modifications (except to modify config and include,
processor defines), not the case.
Any one else discovered problems ?
