Bob, if you start acting civilized nobody here will want anything to do
with you.  You'd stick out like a sore thumb.

Actually, lazy isn't my only problem.  I'm working 80+ hours for the next
few weeks to prepare for a 10-day or so trip (my estimate based on
experience :-(  ), while starting up a new business (http://www.rc-hydros.com)
that's exceeding my expectations (and resources) and helping as much as I
can with taking care of 7 kids.  My wife is telling me I'm a little testy too.

BTW - no need to apologize to me.  What code was it that I didn't send you,
anyway?  I just sent out a bunch to a couple people - maybe I forgot you!
Maybe I need to apologize to you?

Andy

PS - I didn't take any offense - no need to forgive from me, but if it
makes you feel better, I'll forgive you.  Big question (much more
important) is, "Has God forgiven you?"  You _can_ be, and it isn't hard.
But at the same time, it's the hardest thing you'll ever do.

Andy

...this religious crap never fails to offend me.

By succeeding in pissing Bob off enough to make him unsubscribe,
you guys have pissed in many people's bath water. Well done.
Let's see...Andy Warren, John Payson, Bob Blick. Hmmm. I also
haven't seen anything by Dmitry over the past months either.
Instead of this self-righteous attitude, the right thing would
be to beg Bob to subscribble again.

I met Bob about three weeks ago, and he is by far the most
generous person I have ever met. If you asked Bob for it,
he'd give you the shirt off his back.

I have, over the past few weeks, considered unsubscribble-ing
myself. There are many of the PIClisters who just don't know
when to shut the fuck up. There is a point in an OT thread
where you have to realise that the thread is dead, or doesn't
belong on the PIClist. At this point, hold your seat, close
your eyes, *and shut the fuck up*.

I have also sent my share of OT's, but have always tried to
keep it to no more than two or so postings. I will also not
respond to any replies to this post unless it it private.

By week-end, I'll probably also unsubscribble pukelist. I've
met so many really knowlegdeable and really nice people, but
the A/HP (asshole-to-helpfull-person) ratio is getting too high.

This is my first [OT] posting ever, but now I really think it is time that I
throw in my opinion in this threat.

I have been on (and off) this list for about 3 years, I don't think myself
to be a newbie anymore and I still remember my first question to the list.
Andy Warren kindly and very professional gave me the help that I needed.

This is why I am on this list, *to try to help* and occasional get some. I
dislike subcribblers who join the list, collect the help and the don't give
a shit about other peoples problem.

This [OT] thread comes up every now and then, and it is amazing how many
"new names" I see answering it. It is always easy to answer something that
don't require any thinking. My guess is that a lot of people on the list are
_to used_ to chat lines.

Tjaart, Bob and others: Please stay, the list needs your skill!

Any flames -> private mail !!!

I think you may have passed this point without realising it on this occasion
:-)
Fortunately, we all are allowed to do this occasionally.

I don't think Bob was driven off by Andy and co - I think perhaps you are
being a bit unkind to them. No matter. They can take it. I haven't noticed
too many extra A's here lately (unless I'm one of them and can't see it ;-))
and I try to be a HP most of the time.

I occasionally comment less than 100% politely offlist if it seems
appropriate (not with your flair of course) but try to keep things polite
onlist for the general good. .
We could do without losing people like Bob or you (even though you get a bit
grumpy from time to time :-))
Hang in there - if we all just ignore the bits we don't like (or maybe flame
them offlist ? :-)) it should settle down.
Maybe time to petition Mark / Rory again for a little guidance?

regards

Bob unsub'd himself because he though HE was being a jerk.

Andy Warren - let's see, I just got one from him the other day.  "Busy," he
says, not PO'd.  I asked him.

Didn't see anything from John or Dimitry.  Dmitry was saying something
about a big project last I recall, though, so maybe he got a life instead
of sitting around here all day.

We'll miss you.  Don't do it.

"Just the facts, sir, just the facts."

Well said Tjaart, I agree 95% (I would not have been so polite)

I am also trying (hard) to find a reason to stay "subscribbled"

Even though I don't have much spare time since I left Greece,
I always find the time to read Bob's posts.
He is (was) one of the most helpful people on the list

I ask that he reconsiders his decision to leave the list.

I have also been on the list for about 2 years.  I have listened a lot, learned
a lot and spoke out on various threads.  Sometimes I got hammered and some times
I offended some one.  But we are not perfect and we grow from our mistakes as
well as others.  It is a terribly wrong thing for you guys to drop out.  You are
valued, even if you feel as sense of hurt feelings, guilt or whatever.  We are
mostly big people, forgiving and hopefully less punitive than we sometimes
seem.  Stay, don't walk on eggshells, contribute and be valued.

Richard

Looks like I'm joining in the recent fun!
What was meant to be a private comment to Tjaart went to list and not to

Sorry all.
If you don't know what I'm talking about, just forget it.
Sorry all!

Hi Tjaart and other gentlemen ;-).

Sorry that I've missed start of this hot discussion but
I'll also worry if Bob will leave the list. Right now I'm
a little busy with programming but I hope return back and
discuss or optimize something interesting very soon. ;-)

WBR Dmitry.

PS. Anyway list form is better ( more comfortable) than just emails.
Maybe some smart email filter is required ? ;-)
