Well Lalakis, you seem to have OS problems. i too use win98, and pip-02, without any of your problems. dont know if it matters in win98 but..... Are you the admin?
As you saw there were a couple of BAT´s for COM1 and COM2 for you did you try those?
I have DL´d some utils for you, ludipipo 1.18 with com84 from the one i use, and picprg06 w32 ver and a NT ver.
I hope one of those will help you. these i also now have upped to my space.

All are verified and works just fine, hope that takes care of your problem.
P.S didnt you say you used a parallelport? in that case NONE of these programs will work you see they work only under rs232 as far as i know. When you use com84 you may type the following.
COM84 COM1 to load com84 for com1. ( this is basically what is in the two bats, except for that the bats disables the com84 when you exit lusipipo. )
WELL if it still wont work i cant help you, maybe someone else in here know of any parallelport driver for ludipipo, just because i dont know of any dont mean it doesnt exist. And most people in here have more experience in this matter than me i think.

It's me again. Thanks again for your help, but unfortunately I still have
the same problem! I'm using the PICBlaster programmer (it's very compact)
and I want to know if com84 and the other drivers search for a programmer in
COM1 or 2 upon installation. Has anyone tried the PICBlaster?

It's possible your machine is too fast for the program, Error 200 is
'division by zero' - although this isn't usually the reason for it!.
The most common cause is a bug in the Borland compilers (certainly in
Turbo Pascal, and probably in Turbo C as well).
Originally the older Borland compilers started having problems when
faster machines started appearing, this was caused by the way they
implement the delay routines. As the program initializes it runs a loop
which increments a counter during the time of one clock 'tick', this
value is then used in a software loop to generate machine independent
1mS delays. Once fast 486's started appearing the counter used started
to overflow, this obviously gave wildly inaccurate delays.
The problems started appearing during the life of Turbo Pascal 6.0, and
Borland produced a bug-fix for the problem, TP7 had no problems as the
routines were already corrected before it was produced.
Anyway, back to the original problem, the 'bug-fix' which Borland
produced has it's own bug as well!. The counter used is 32 bits, and
after the routine has run it's copied to a 16 bit register, this is what
causes the 'Error 200'. It only applies to very fast machines, ones
which cause the counter to use more than 16 bits - I seen to recall that
only Pentium II machines do this, and even the slower ones of these are
OK.
Borland no longer maintain their DOS compilers, and have not produced
any updates for this problem - however, there are a lot of programmers
out there, and there are many free fixes for the problem available off
the net - either to cure the problem in the compiler, or to 'patch' the
.EXE itself. Assuming the program is written in Turbo Pascal 7.0, there
is an .EXE file updater available from my website.
Or, if you like, I'll swap my P166 for your PII :-).

I use PIP02 with the COM84 drivers! Works very well! The circuit i got on
ELEKTOR MAGAZINE. The circuit is for serial port.

I'm using PIP02 ver 1.18 because I heard that 1.26 was "unstable".
No pb for 16C84 with 1.18 ... but on a 486 laptop ;-)

I haven't noticed any signs of unstability in 1.26 but maybe I'll come
across them later. I think 1.26 (or 1.25?) was the first version to support
16F84.
I have several versions of pip02 scattered around my hard drive. The latest
help file I found (with a quick search) was 1.06. Version 1.26 only has a
lame html file.
