'PICs and Macs'

If you are interested in using a Mac to interface to PICs then checkout
http://www.microvention.com/. They offer what I feel is a very high quality
PIC development system. Their programming board has both a Mac as well as
the usual serial PC connector. They have both FutureBASIC (Mac) and PC
BASIC languages as well as their own control language. I have no interest
in this vendor, other than I think they sell a good product.

P.S. I like to see the messages from flamers and smart asses. That way I
can discount what ever they might say in the future and I can focus in on
the reasoned and thoughtful replies offered by many on this list. Does
anyone have mail list software that you can use to block messages from
known flamers and asses?

Does Eudora Pro do such "filtering"?

Within Eudora Pro menubar --> Tools/Filters

Example: I have set up a mailbox "Pic."  My filter then transfers all of the
piclist messages (those containing the string "Multiple recipients of list
PICLIST <spam_OUTPICLISTTakeThisOuTspamMITVMA.MIT.EDU>"  from my IN mailbox to the PIC.  Keeps
things tidy.

Pegasus Mail certainly has that capability. It's free, too.
http://www.pegasus.com should find it. Me, I use elm - my filter-rules file
gets about one new entry a week :-)

It's especially gratifying when I get my once-a-day summary of filters
applied, and see that there have been rejected messages.

       Yes.  Look under Tools/Filters.

Setup a match on the 'From:' field of an incoming message,
tick the 'Transfer to:' option, and select 'Trash'.

This will automatically send all messages received from the
nominated person straight to cyber heaven.  You can modify
this so the message is only trashed if it's sent to the
PICLIST, and so avoid losing messages sent to you personally.

Yes, you can set up filters to dump any mail with a particular string in
just about any part or all of the header to a mailbox you create or the
trash mailbox which you can have purged upon exit.

I wish Netscape 3.0 did that as well! It would save a lot of time
manually sorting messages from different lists, etc.
