Hi,

I have a pic sending data to the lpt port on a pc. Does any one know of
any info on lpt pass through. Like copy protect dongles plug in the lpt and
the printer plugs in the back of the dongle, and they work together (most
of the time). I am useing pin 10 (ack on lpt port) to send data from the
pic to the pc.

Thanks

some of the dongles I have seen use a small (100 ohm) series resistor
for one readback pin (pin 10 as example). For data from PC to PIC
(dongle, whatever) any ouput pin can be used, when PIC sends data to
PC it drives the PC side of the resistor. If that PIC pin is HiZ state
then the dongle does pass all signal through.

The series resistor is maybe not the best solution, any logic that does
the same could be used.
