'PIC experts out there who use ICQ?'

To the membership:
Are there any PIC designers who are using ICQ or Netmeeting that I can
link up with in the event that I encounter a problem that needs
real-time diagnosis/assistance? I don't anticipate that there will be
major problems in the immediate future, but it is kind of nice to have
"fallback" contacts just in case.

K. Schauf

Does ICQ work with IP-Masquerading in Linux?
My computer talks to the internet via a masqueraded link because I had
our company's internet connection via a single dialup. I am planning to
download ICQ but I am not sure if it will work on our setup.

Yes. Sending messages, chat, and file transfers have worked here at home.
But, I am the only user on our little network using ICQ. YMMV.

ICQ seems to work in my office over our Linux firewall system. You're
supposed to tell it that it is looking through a firewall, and it seems
to have some difficulty connecting within the LAN, frequently resorting
to "send via server", but not always! Funny!
