Hi,

I have an idea.. 'record' waves with an f84 and stores them in an
external parralel eeprom.

record 8 high/lows every cycle of a 4khz signal in a byte write to
eeprom;do again.

to play back take a byte and read the next bit on a pin every cycle at
4khz;do again

Is this already implemented?

And would anybody use this in the real world?

TNX,

I don't know if used PIC's inside but my daughter has a toy called
bla-bla who can store up to 20 seconds of voice, it has a speaker, a
(fet amplifier) microphone and a potentiometer for speed record,
And it's very cheap ...about 3$.

The toy is three dollars out of volume.  the ISD recording chip cost
somewhere around $10.(20 sec version)

Do a web search on ISD1420 chip (cannot remember web page or
manufacturer). This is a single chip solution for sound recording.
They work great, you won't have to code any DA/AD conversion. Just
control record, playback and address with your micro.

May not be exactly what you're looking for but I thought it might
help.
