Hi PICers,
I currently use Netscape Communicator to compose and view e-mail.  With
the number of PICLIST posts generated each day I would like to filter
and sort them.  What other Free or Shareware e-mail programs have other
PICers found useful?  Thanks.

If you're using NetScape 4.0 or better at least, you can use (in
Communicator) Edit : Mail Filters to filter mail easily (Do remember to
create the folders <G>) and in that Mail Filters dialog box hit New, use
something like 'Filter Name' PicList, 'If the' to or cc, 'of the
message' contains, spam_OUTPICLISTTakeThisOuTspamMITVMA.MIT.EDU, 'then' Move to folder,
PicList, and turn the filter ON.  That should filter everything into the
PicList folder that you just created with File : New Folder quite
nicely.

I use MS Outlook Express
which I have found to be very easy to use
and has a very good build filter and sorting feature.
(and of course is free and can be used with almost any browser)

The source code is not free, however.

Netscape Communicator has mail filtering, and it works fine for me.

I use Pegasus Mail 3.01, which is free. It can be used to filter and sort mail
in many ways.

1. right click the 'Outlook Express' text in the box to the left of the
message area. select 'new folder' call it 'piclist'.

2. select 'tools', 'inbox assistant'

3. select 'add', then in the 'to' box enter 'PICLIST' and then click the
'move to' box and select the 'piclist' folder

now whenever mail is received with 'piclist' in the 'to' field it will be
transfered to the 'piclist' folder you created.

michael

You may leave the list at any time by writing "SIGNOFF PICLIST" in the
body of a message to @spam@LISTSERVKILLspamspamMITVMA.MIT.EDU.

Just go to Tools/inbox wizard and set the filter.
