Can anyone tell me what the PIC 16c61 does?

It appears in the latest version of the programmer software, but I
can't find it in any catalogues in the UK.

Thanks

Consider it to be a PIC16C71 with the A/D removed.

The 16c61 is the 16c71 without the A/D converters and coresponding registers.

The PIC16C61 is a 16C71 without the A/D converters. In fact, it is just that - a
C71 whose A/D cicuitry isn't connected. If you are considering using this part,
you might want to hold out for the soon to be released (now sampling) 16C621.
This part is same pinout as the C61 but different specs are

80 bytes RAM
2 analog converters w/ interrupt
Brown out protection
Better pricing than a C61

Better check your price list again.   I have been repeatedly quoted MUCH
higher prices for the '621 and '622 parts than for the '61 in quantities of
5k and 10k.  The prices in EDN and Electronic Products were misquoted (2.63
in 1k lots) according to my rep.   I have been quoted $6.36 in 1000's for the
'622 in SS package and had to buy A LOT OF PARTS to get the price below $5.
