I use ORCAD from more than 10 years. I used versions 1.0, 3.21, 4.xx and
386 1.0. Now I use mainly the 3.21 version ( schematic capture only ),
because it is quite small, stable and I don't need it for huge projects.
I tested also the version 6.0 for Windows ( schematic capture ), but I
don't like it ( let's say I'm an old fashion user, who uses mainly the
keyboard, not the mouse ! ).
For PCB projects, I use Racal-Redac ( I started with version 1 on a
two floppy PC and now I use the version 6) which is quite good and it
is supported by all local board manufacturers. I tried also Orcad PCB, but
it has a problem which I cannot remove : the autorouter makes the diagonal
traces from small orthogonal segments, looking like a staircase !
Some years ago I tested PCAD, which is a great package, but too complicated
for doing small and medium projects.
