I'm not in the office today, so my list is far from complete but does
include the manufacturers that we looked at seriously.  We do a lot of
prototyping and   our product lines tend to fall into a low volume-high
margin niche, so our equipment needs are colored by this.

NEPCON holds trade shows that focus on electronic manufacturing equipment
and tools.  The next show is in Texas during the last week of October.  This
will give you a chance to kick the tires and test drive some of the
equipment.  http://www.nepcon.com/

Manncorp makes a pretty broad line of equipment.  Everything from manual
pick and place machines up to some fairly pricey automated lines.  The sales
people are pretty sharp and were willing to answer all my dumb questions.

This equipment is imported from Poland.  For our needs, they offered the
most bang for the buck.  We got a screen printer, manual pick and place with
paste dispenser, and a batch reflow oven for US$ 12k.

We have several of their through-hole lead forming machines and gave serious
consideration to some of the SMT equipment they now sell.

If we need to upgrade to automated equipment, Upgrade Technologies is the
leading contender at the moment.  They started out with a focus on ovens.  I
believe the screen printers and pick and place machines are fairly recent
additions to their product line.

I hope this helps out.

We have a Ugrade Technologies oven and I cannot reccommend it's use
to anyone.  In fact I would say don't purchase an oven from them.  On
the whole we are very unhappy with our oven.

If you are interested e-mail me privately and I can list the reasons.

We don't have any experience with thier other products.
