--Consortium links MCUs to the Internet--

A consortium of semiconductor makers, software vendors and computer hardware
suppliers has been formed here to lead the integration of information from
8- and 16-bit embedded devices into enterprise applications. The consortium,
called "Embed the Internet", aims to provide networked access to data at the
microcontroller level through the Internet.

Crystals are part of virtually every design, but selecting the right one can
be confusing and mysterious. Norman Bujanos of Circuit Cellar solves the
mystery in a full-length application article reviewing crystal parameters
and what they mean.

To followup on Bill's EDTN comments, if you have'nt done so already, check
out their site as there is a `wealth' of information. While I subscribe to
EE-Times, EDN, Electronic Desisgn and many others, it's nice to get a weekly
summary from EDTN.
