'MemoryStick Flash memory interface'

Someone not too long ago linked to a great article about interfacing to a compact flash memory device.  I was wondering if anyone knew of a similar article, or similar information, about interfacing with a Sony MemoryStick.

I've looked at the Sony website, but I can't seem to find any technical information on the contacts or the interface.  I'm assuming they don't release this information to hobbyists?

Thanks for the help,

Mike

My understanding is that the interface is proprietary, and you need to
license it from Sony.  This is one reason why there are so few memory
stick devices out there.

Which is so typical of Sony.  I would be using a Vaio laptop now
instead of a Thinkpad if it weren't for the proprietariness.

Depending on what you want to do, you could pick up a Sony memory
stick to USB interface, and use that as a front end for your
project.  I used one yesterday to transfer images from a memory
stick to my laptop.

BTW, my memory stick is made by Lexar, so perhaps there are other
products that you might be able to use for this, so keep looking.

Cheers,
-Neil.
