'MPLAB indentation problem'

Hi all,

I just loaded the current version of MPLAB ( I can't remember the exact
number, 4.xx) onto my development computer and I am having a strange
problem with code indentation. When I bring up MPLAB and load in my last
active project and open .ASM file (by clicking "YES" to the question that
asks me if I want to do this), the .ASM file comes up with all of the
spaces removed from the beginning of each line, eliminating my indentation
AND causing errors. Are others seeing this same problem? Also, MPLAB is
adding a bunch of stuff to the end of the .ASM file(configuration
information, such as what fuses are to be set,etc.). Is this normal? It
certainly doesn't occur in my version 3.40 on my other machine.

Thanks,

Sean

Hi all,

Sorry that this is a duplicate, but I never got an answer and I find it
hard to believe that no one knows about MPLAB 4.10 ;-)

Check your system for DIEHARD virus. This virus typically puts its boot code at
the beginning of your file. The matter in the area occupied by the boot code
is  appended to the end of the file. These sort of things happen if you have
some virus in the system. MPLAB does not do this

Thanks to those who responded.

I am temporarily not using MPLAB on that computer anyway, so it isn't
affecting me much. I will make more attempts to study the problem when I
have more time.

I don't feel that it is a virus because the appended info is text and it is
configuration info about my project. Also, it is only happening in MPLAB.
In addition, that computer has no modem or other connection to the outside
world.

Thanks again,

Sean
