'MPLAB and C compiler'

Friends,
Does anybody know of a C compiler that you
can use in MPLAB? I am still semi-new to programming
and MCU's. Using C seems to be the best way to go
(considering I've been writing 4-5K lines of assy).
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I am using
mainly the mid-range (16C6X and 16C7X) PICs. I would
like to write the code strictly in MPLAB and use it along with
C code. Is it possible to have C and assy mixed in
MPLAB and beable to compile them both at the same time?
Sorry if this sounds very "green", but what can I say... I am!!
Thanks in advance..............

Best regards,
Steven

Hi,
Check http://www.bknd.com. They have a free version for up to
1K code. It's works with MPLAB 4.12 and the generated
code is the best I saw.

I've used MPC (http://www.bytecraft.com) in MPLAB for ages.
You can use it with any PIC without hassle.
No or little bugs (none that I know of).

I use CCS and PicBasic Pro with MPLAB. They work fine. Looking at the
different install options, it would appear HiTech and Byte Craft also have
built in support.
