Hi Folks,
Anyone know how to control the initial size/location of the MPLAB main
window. When I start MPLAB it comes up full screen which means that it hides
the Windows 95 task bar. This is getting really irritating! What's worse is
that if I switch away to other apps I end up with the MPLAB status bar
behind the Windows 95 task bar! I've played around with a few settings in
the .ini file but the only thing I can find there allows me to start MPLAB
maximized which is OK until I unmaximize it and then guess what it goes and
hides the Windows Task Bar again :-(
You have the option of making the taskbar auto-hide, so that when you move
the mouse down to the bottom of the screen, the bar pops up. Just keep the
mouse down there and the bar will stay popped up over MPLAB.
Hope this works

To seect auto-hide for the taskbar, right-click on the taskbar, select
properties and click the autohide-box to select it. (If you don't know how
to...)

Instead: make the task bar so it slides over MPLAB when you move your mouse
to it, and hides elsetimes. (uh, is that an english word?)
Slelect START, Steetins, Activity field and check the boxes:
X always on top
X hide automatically

I've found MPLAB to work differently on some days, but _usually_ if I
bring the mouse all the way to the bottom of the screen(remember MPLAB has
taken over the entire screen when it started) and click once, MPLAB
reduces its height automagically and makes room for the win95 taskbar. Try
it and see if it works on your computer.
Hi Bob,
Thanks for the tip this is certainly the way that it works for me! How odd!
Now if only I could get it to start up that way.... Oh and thanks to you
other folks for the suggestion about using the auto-hide option for the task
bar. Unfortunately I hate this Windows feature even more than I hate the way
that MPLAB comes up full screen :-(. So once again thanks to Bob, at least I
have a quick way to sort this out, just wish that we didn't have the problem
to begin with!

I usually just click on the maximize button of MPLAB. Although the
window takes up the whole screen at startup, it is not maximized and
clicking on it makes room for the task bar.
