Is MCHIPBBS still running? I tried to FTP to mchipbbs.microchip.com with
no reply yesterday, I used to use the Compuserve dial up, with the
Galacticomm frontend, but I've since removed it from my machine (during a
hard disk swapout), and have now lost the Compuserve access number, (and
anyway FTP is cheaper for me).

TIA

Paul

I had used also MCHIPBBS but with telnet access. Recently I can't.
I did some investigation. It turned out the microchip-gw.Microchip.COM
points to itself if requested for the BBS instead of that server.
Microchip should reconfigure its gateway! Can someone forward it?

Thanks,

Imre

P. S.: I miss the MCHIPBBS and locally I have no acceptable CSERVE access.

Microchip's BBS system service was terminated earlier this
year.  Most
people are using the Internet and the BBS was not getting
much
use.  Disconnection notices were published well in advance,
and there
was little reaction at the time.

The conferences have moved to the Microchip web page under
"Knowledge Base" for now.

<sniff> Mchip unplugged it earlier this year. It used to be my favourite place
to look for new stuff. The web page, although nice-looking, isn't kept as
up-to-date as the BBS. The previous version of the web page was also
easier to get around if you were looking for something. Oh well, I suppose
the looks must make up for the lack of new stuff.
