I think that an adapter made from a DIP40 and a PLCC socket would work.
You would simply run a wire from the pin on the PLCC socket to the
matching pin function (not number!) on the DIP40 Socket. I think this
chip only uses 25 of its pins for programming, so you would probably only
have to wire these pins. I haven't tried this myself, but it should
work.
