I am looking for an IR-demodulator. I have found Sharp and LiteOn. Who is
the manufacturer of the SFH506-36 and what other manufactures do you know
about?

As far a learning you will probably have to teach it i.e. tell it the next
code is on,off, dim etc. Then measure the burst width and delay between
bursts till the code repeats.

I want to make a lightdimmer that must be able to receive and 'learn'
IR-codes with 36kHz carrier. I'll use a readymade IR-receiver/demodulator
(SFH506-36) which outputs the demodulated received IR-code (36kHz removed).

Siemens makes a SFH506-36. See page 9-48 in their 95-96 Optoelectronics Data
book.  They probably have it on their website or even a CD-ROM.

Good Luck
