Try the Phillips PCF8583. 256 byte static ram, I2C interface and realtime
clock. It costs
something like US$5 in single quantities. You don't have to use the RTC
section of it.
Farnell sell them in singles. Their Sydney number is ++61 2 96458888. They
are also on the web.
