'I2C Master Mode on PIC16C65'

I don't know if anyone can help, but I'm trying to implement I2C master
mode on a 16C65 in software (as it's not supported in hardware). Thing is,
are the start and stop conditions (SDA high to low transition whilst SCL
High for Start, etc) automatically generated by the hardware or do they
have to be synthesised using software ? Also, with the PIC in
Master-Transmitter mode, once the address and R/W bit has been sent (and
the synchronous port is set to detect ACK), can the ACK bit be detected by
hardware, or once again would a software routine have to be written to pick
this up ???
Being a newbie to I2C I could do with some help, any would be appreciated!!
Cheers!

I'm doing the same as you for the PIC16C63. Maybe we can work together. And,
when you ant to implement the Master mode, you have to do it all using
software. You can't use the hardware --> SSP-module. I'll send the things
I've got to you. I hope you do the same for me ????
I'll send them to your E-mail address !!
