Hello to everybody: I'll really appreciate if somebody will give me some information on ' How is the MPLAB C17 or C18 work?' because I have been editing using the MPLAB v 4.11 IDE and I was using the MPASM for the assembling the source codes. But now I want to have a know how on using the MPLAB C17 compiler so as I can make codes in short time and the use of the ready made functions!. But, I downloaded the MPLAB C17 Beta version and I don't know or find how can I use the MPLAB IDE as an editor and direct it to compile using C17 ! No way I find where to direct the MPLAB IDE to find my sorce code and compile it?. Is there anyone can take some time to inform me on the configuration (rooting) of it? I will really appreciate 'coz I don't have too much time as I am suppose to submit the project as soon as I can. Regards and thanks in advance, Ismael M. I would recommend you to try also other compilers apart of Microchip's. I'm working with Ht-Picc of Hi-tech and it works wonderfully. The integration with MPLAB has been better done with MPLAB 4.12.12. There are lots of comparatives with compilers. But at this time I think only MPLAB C18 can manage with 18Cxx PIC's. Hi-tech's going to release one in the next future. There are also IAR's and CCS's, you can see a lot of discussions about C compilers. I personally don't trust in MPLABC17.
