Hi --
I'm getting tired of MPASM.  Are there any good books on programming the
PIC in the much-higher-level VISUAL COBOL ++ language?

Yes!!!  Visual COBOL!  Instead of the cryptic c=a*b, we could use
"multiply a by b giving c"!

Write the compiler, and I'm sure _somebody_ will write a book about it.

I'm still waiting for "MPASM for DUMMIES" to come out <G>

what's with this "compressed Vcobol?"

Multiply the variable called A by the variable called B and place the
result in a new,
uninitialized variable called C, allocating suficient space to store the
result.

That's Visual COBOL++ !!  You can't define new variables on the fly in Vcobol!

 Dang, people.

Now I'm going to have Cobol and PL/I nightmares tonight.  With
occasional visits from JOVIAL and the 4k page size of IBM 4831
assembler.

 Thanks a LOT, folks!  <G>

Hmmm....

They must have made cobol shorter since I went to school...

didn't it used to take 3 pages of reports, just to say what computer
you were compiling on/for, before you even got to designating what
variable you were going to change?
