'High speed IR or RF comms'

Hi all,

Does anyone know of either modules or ICs which will do either IR or RF
comms reliably at about 150kbps at about 10 foot range? If it's a module,
it would have to be somewhat omnidirectional, because this would be going on
a moving vehicle. It would also be nice if one end of it could easily be
interfaced to a PC.

Thanks,

Sean

Take a look at HP modules (IrDA)

4MB/s:   www.semiconductor.agilent.com/ir/hsdl3600.html
115kb/s: http://www.semiconductor.agilent.com/ir/hsdl3610.html

They use a pretty angle (cone) 30-60¡ for the Transmitter and 30¡ for
the Receiver, but distance is around 4ft to 8ft only. I already worked
with similar devices, and got further distances using focusing lenses
(narrow angle).
At least will start you up with something.

Wagner.

They can supply You an 3-5VDC 20kbit/sec 433Mhz transiever.
