Is there a freely-redistributable PIC assembler available in source form?
That 4-component 16C84 burner in "blowpic.zip" looks nice. I'm thinking about
including PIC software on my "Linux for Hams" CD-ROM. I'd have to re-write the
driver for Linux, but that doesn't look like a big deal.

A PIC emulator would be nice, too, but I guess that's asking too much.

       Thanks

'Pictools' by Ian King <.....iekKILLspamspam@spam@ADVANCED-ROBOTICS-RESEARCH-CENTRE.SALFORD.AC.UK>,> is GNU licenced and developed under Linux. It's on ftp.funet.fi (I think
nic.funet.fi is a pseudonym .. that's where Archie finds it).

Host nic.funet.fi

There have been a couple of people talking about doing one - neither
is complete, but one of them (at least) was at alpha test stage. This
is by Dave Madden <
dhmspamKILLspamVHEISSU.NET.DCL.CO.JP>. Unfortunately, it needs
C++ and I haven't yet installed it so I can't try it out. I think he
put it on ftp.sics.se as 'picsim', but I've got a copy if you can't
find it.

The other was by R J GAUTIER <.....rjgKILLspamspam.....ABER.AC.UK> - he has a simulator written
in Tcl/Tk that he was hoping to get modified for PIC by an MSc student.
I don't know what happened to this project.
